Poor puppy

28Oct200601

The dog is home. She’s under orders to not run, jump, or do doggie things.

She’s on gruel, which she loves. Really. No, not really. We’re having a hard time getting her to eat. The vet assured us that she was eating if the food was left in the crate with her overnight. I hope this is the case.

After ten days, we take her back to the vet to have the stitches removed. By then, she should be off the antacids, the painkillers, and the special food.

As preventative maintenance, we’ll be putting her on mineral oil or hairball remedy. The vet suggested the Malt flavor over the Tuna flavor. Better smelling breath from the Malt flavor, apparently.

Poor puppy. It’s nice to have her back, though.

    She’s eating. Finally.

We thought she’d burst a suture this morning, and they used a running stitch to sew her up. Which translates into “one stitch goes, so do the rest.” Fortunately, the suture had come untied, not burst.

    What a week!
