Weekend geeking

I spent the weekend geeking. Was up till 2 am Sunday morning working on the new place I’ve alluded to recently. I spent several hours later that morning upgrading the WordPress sites I maintain. And followed up with some tweaking on the new place.
I’ve been fortunate to have several volunteers do usability testing on the […]

I read an article in a local weekly today about crime and violence in the school system. (I’ll update this page to include a link to the story.) The changing role of public education–and the politics of that role–are always fascinating to me. So I was interested to see a quote from the local police […]

I encountered Typophile while researching a sideline project. […]

I had a pretty bad cold last week that I am recovering from. As usual, the cold is lingering and sapping resources.
This week, I’ve had a number of situations requiring me to extravert and expend additional energy. I’ve been exhausted at the end of the day, pretty much depleted.
Although I have made several notes […]

Rain of dead birds

The BBC Headlines had this story on rains of dead birds in two towns–Esperance, Western Australia, and Austin, Texas.
I don’t have anything to add, really. Vets haven’t come up with a reason for either event.
