Christ dead at 33

Viewed from a psychological perspective, the Resurrection can refer to the emergence of the differentiated self at the second adulthood. Resurrection can be the shucking off of the self-imposed unconscious limitations and the awareness that we are solely responsible to living authentically.

Is it significant that Christ died at 33? “Midlife” is traditionally understood to begin in the mid-30s, although I understand this can be accelerated by life experiences. Never mind that. The age may or may not be irrelevant–a symbolic doubling of a sacred number or a reminder that the thirties begin a period of self-assessment.

About this post: I woke up with this in my head this morning, so it’s probably not very well worded or thought through.
