The blog
I’m setting up shop here. I’ve been at other free, hosted journal sites and written a long thread on a much loved forum, but this is mine.
I built it. I back it up. It’s up to me to keep it running sound.
There’s a terrible freedom here. It fits in with where I am with my life.
Some of you may come here from my forum threads. I’ll be the same here as there. And there as here, you’re welcome to comment.
The writer
I was born in Kansas 39 days before 1970. I was only in Kansas for six months; I’d like to see the state some day. I love the deserts of Utah and New Mexico, the rolling hills of Wisconsin, the plains of Manitoba, the lakes and forests of Western Ontario.
I geek for a living. This is my second career. My first career was in printing/publishing. I plan to move into technical editing and indexing; in the meantime, I’m becoming an information systems auditor. (Added 14 March 2007: I’m taking the long way around, too. I may take a detour into organizational development.) The long-term plan involves small engine repair and experimental aircraft.
Education, certificates, and recognition: BA (English Literature with Art minor), Phi Kappa Phi, CNE, CISSP, CISA, MBTI Step-1 Qualified.
I’m fascinated by CG Jung, transformative and depth psychology, Gnosticism, and the writing process.
I’m not much into popular culture. It’s not that I don’t like it, I just don’t pay much attention to it.
